Mind of Resilience

Searing cold
pierced his mind
like ice picks aflame
and ravaged his skull.

He did what he could,
shunning
and dodging
the pain
with the understanding
of a victim
and the flexibility
of a doormat.

By the end of the onslaught
he was left
gasping for sustinance
and peace.

... But there was none
only open space
begging for acquittal
and sending signs.

He had to leave...

and he left.
